Train Station Exhibit
Watch as the train zooms around the track in our new Train Station! Conduct our replica train engine and learn cool new facts about not one, but two train stations in Blacksburg’s history. See how these giant locomotives were used to transport people, animals, and supplies across long distances before today’s cars and airplanes.
A slideshow of pictures and interesting facts makes this exhibit a great place to practice reading skills and a fun look into the past of Blacksburg. Shadow boxes full of actual artifacts and replica 1940’s train engines. As children interact with the train engine and learn about Blacksburg’s history, they will also be able to use math skills to buy and sell train tickets.
